Equipment Composition and Structural Features

The synchronous chip sealing vehicle consists mainly of the asphalt spraying system, aggregate distribution system, electrical control system, and auxiliary equipment system.

  1. Asphalt Spraying System
    The spraying system mainly includes the asphalt tank, heating section, hydraulic section, control section, and spraying section.

    • Asphalt Tank: The tank body is made of stainless steel with a matte finish, with insulation material in the middle. The internal structure consists of a heating boiler and heat transfer oil coil. The external appearance is neat and elegant. The tank features an air control valve group to ensure proper circulation of asphalt in the pipeline, preventing overheating or aging of the asphalt.
    • Heating Section: The heating device uses an imported burner and a high-efficiency boiler. It offers high combustion efficiency, good atomization effect, low oil consumption, rapid heating, and stable, safe operation. It requires no manual supervision and ensures that the asphalt in the pipeline reaches the required heating temperature.
    • Hydraulic Section: It uses internationally renowned components (hydraulic pumps and motors) to ensure reliable transmission performance.
    • Control Section: The system uses encoders to accurately detect vehicle speed and asphalt pump speed, ensuring precise spraying. The radar, encoders, and main circuit components are all imported. Once the spray rate is set, the PLC automatically calculates the vehicle speed and pump speed, allowing for automatic spraying control and recommending optimal vehicle speed to the driver.
    • Spraying Section: Each nozzle is controlled by an air valve, ensuring uniform pressure and effective spraying, achieved through a specially designed piping system.
  2. Aggregate Distribution System
    The aggregate distribution system consists of the aggregate bin, control mechanism for the hopper, and the spreader.

    • Aggregate Bin: The V-shaped bin allows for chip spreading without lifting the hopper, facilitating work in tunnels, under bridges, and on curves.
    • Hopper Control Mechanism: The hopper is controlled by 16 routes with a spiral angle control device. The opening angle of the hopper can be set via the angle control instrument, ensuring accuracy and evenly distributed material, overcoming the uneven distribution of traditional systems.
    • Spreader: The spreader consists of a distributor plate and a lower plate, with a wide adjustment range suitable for different particle sizes (S3–S24 mm).
  3. Electrical Control System
    • Spraying Parameters: The system provides the operator with accurate spraying parameters based on different work requirements. The display on the rear control panel shows real-time changes in parameters, accurately reflecting the machine's operation.
    • Manual and Automatic Mode: The system allows simple manual operation and easy switching between manual and automatic modes to improve work efficiency.
    • Adjustable Spraying Width: The system allows the spraying width to be adjusted according to the road width, offering flexibility.
    • Limit Switch: A limit switch controls the elevation of the spray boom, preventing over-extension and protecting both the operator and the equipment.
    • Thermal Oil Alarm System: Equipped with an automatic thermal oil alarm system, it alerts the operator in case of high or low oil levels, and asphalt low level alarms.

Precautions

  1. After completing a task or when moving to a new construction site, the asphalt pump and pipeline must be cleaned and emptied (refer to the user manual), otherwise, the equipment may not function properly next time.
  2. Before spraying asphalt, check that the valve positions are correct.
  3. The hot asphalt added to the tank must reach a working temperature of 160~180°C. For long-distance transport or extended work hours, the heating device can be used for insulation, but it cannot function as an oil furnace.
  4. Do not overfill the asphalt tank, and ensure the fuel cap is tightly closed during transport to prevent spillage.
  5. When using the burner to heat the asphalt, ensure the asphalt level exceeds the burner’s upper plane to prevent damage to the combustion chamber.
  6. If the asphalt pump or pipeline is blocked by solidified asphalt, do not force the pump to turn. Use a heat gun for heating, and avoid direct heating of ball valves or rubber parts.
  7. When starting to spray asphalt, accelerate slowly and maintain a low speed to avoid damaging components such as the clutch and asphalt pump.
  8. The vehicle has both front and rear control panels. When using the front control panel, switch to the front control mode, and only the spray boom lift can be controlled from the rear panel. When using the rear control panel, switch to rear control mode, and the front panel will have no effect. Additionally, the switches for the small nozzles can be controlled via the rear panel.
  9. After daily operations, any leftover asphalt must be returned to the asphalt tank; otherwise, it may solidify inside the tank and prevent the equipment from working next time (refer to the user manual). If the vehicle or equipment malfunctions and cannot be repaired in a short time, the asphalt in the tank must be fully drained.
